The front of this lovely sterling silver compact features a 14k yellow gold puffed heart applied in one corner. The back of the compact is pressed in a sunburst pattern of rays. Inside the lid is a mirror. The silvering of the mirror is intact, though there is a line of what appearsto be water staining around its edges. This compact is entirely complete, including the powder puff and a screen that keeps the loose powder in place. The puff does appear to have been used. Some of the powder is still present under the screen. The push clasp closes securely and opens smoothly. It is marked near the hinges with 14KT GOLD on the left and STERLING By Lampl on the right. What appears to be a previous owner’s inventory number has been scratched into the silver by the gold mark. The sterling has a lovely soft patina, with some darker spots of tarnish. It has been left undisturbed so the new owner can polish it as desired.
Measures 2-5/8 inches in diameter. Total weight is 2.2 ounces (62 grams).
