Walter Lampl 1930s Carved Chinese Cinnabar Brooch

This magnificent brooch features a beautifully carved and detailed floral design worked in Chinese cinnabar (red lacquer applied in dozens of very thin layers). The carved cinnabar is prong-set in an ornate antiqued gold-tone floral setting. This beautiful brooch dates to the 1930s. Marked WALTER LAMPL.

Measures 1-1/2” x 3".

Safety clasp holds well. No damage to gold-tone plating. Four tiny smears of red paint or nail polish on the reverse side of the brooch. These have been left undisturbed.
