























Midcentury Zaccagnini Italian Ceramic Platter
This gorgeous piece of Italian pottery is in the form of an oblong shallow bowl or deep platter. The color is a shiny, deep, rich turquoise blue laid over impressed “quilting” of the ceramic base. Applied in high relief are two small floral medallions and two large anthemion motifs. The finish on these floral elements is brown matte, with traces of gilding. The rim of the dish is also lightly gilded. The underside is white. It is signed B. 186 ITALY and with a crossed Z, the signature of Ugo Zaccagnini. It dates to the 1950s or early 1960s.
Measures 13 x 8-3/4 inches and rises 2-1/2 inches tall at the 4 corners. At the center it rises 1-3/4 inches tall.
