This lovely example of naive Nordic folk art dates to the 1950s. The detail of this piece is remarkable, from the careful rendering of the man’s clothing, the linens on the table, and the flowers in the window to the construction of the table and the texture of the walls - all is portrayed with loving attention. The colors are bright and crisp. The wood finish is intact. Glued to the back is the original felt. There is very light wear to the red trim at the edge of the plate, probably from plate hanger use in the past.
Measures 7-3/4 inches in diameter, rises 1-1/2 deep.
Very good vintage condition.
