Vintage Javanese Teal Venetian Lampwork Bead Fish Necklace

$275.00

This beautiful necklace was created by Indonesian artist Devi Tana Hariman in the 1980s. The central element is a delightful silver fish. Antique lamp-wound beads in teal, gold, red, and orange are punctuated by matte-finish red Indo-Pacific “brick pearl” beads and gilded reproductions of ancient Indonesian coins. The artist collected antique beads from around the world for use in these creations, inspired by the royal jewelry of ancient Java. The necklace is unused, in the artist’s batik-print box, just as it was purchased by members of the U.S. diplomatic corps in Jakarta in 1989.

Necklace measures 25 inches long. The fish measures 2 x 1-1/4 inches.
