This magnificent vintage Chinese estate necklace makes a huge visual statement. It is composed of 18 huge red jasper beads, each measuring 20 mm. in diameter, and all hand-carved with Chinese cloud symbols and characters. Between these big coral beads are disks of dark green turquoise. The jasper showcases beautiful, organic variations including deep black hematite veining and lighter pale shades. The turquoise has rich and subtle matrix. The turquoise beads have been hand-cut and vary slightly in length. These natural variations from one bead to another ensure that this piece is truly unique. The large, well-crafted sterling toggle clasp has ornate overlay decoration and is marked 925 TM.
