Book Details: The author of this book went on to have a long career writing about various types of divination (tea leaves, crystal balls, etc.), but this very early printing of her first book is very scarce. It includes instructions for telling fortunes with both tarot cards and regular playing cards, as well as a final chapter that addresses the Ouija board. Contents include: Preliminaries, The Taro, Mixed Combinations, The Pack, Displaying the Cards - Example Case No. I, Example Cases Nos. II and III, Two Other Methods, The Four Fans, Your Life, The Short Enquiry, The Smaller Cards, The Ouija Board. This volume was originally purchased from the legendary San Francisco bookstore located on Union Square, Newbegin’s. Newbegin’s Book Shop was established in 1906.
Condition: Very good antique condition. Minimal rubbing/wear to corners and ends of spine. Owner’s name written in ink on endpaper, with old bookseller’s penciled identifier and price. Binding is tight. Back endpaper has a sticker reading From Newbegin’s San Francisco.
