This wonderful minimalist bracelet was created by an artisan circa 1960, probably in a Scandinavian country. It represents the Geometric Modernism or “Brutalist Adjacent” design style. Two solid squared-off oval-shaped bands of strong 800 silver have been skillfully arched and fused on two sides to create an open, eye-catching, sculptural design. The use of 800 silver, rather than sterling, makes this bracelet sturdy and durable, as well as beautiful. It is marked simply 800.
Measures 8 inches inside circumference in an oval, not round, shape. Diameters are 2-3/8 × 3 inches. The spread width of the bands is 1/2 inch on one end and 5/8 inch on the other. Weighs 0.8 ounce (24 grams).
Excellent vintage condition. Normal patina of vintage silver has been left undisturbed.
