Based in Volkstedt, Germany, this firm was known for making exquisite handpainted porcelain featuring flowing lines, vibrant colors, and fine details. All of these elements can be seen in this brightly colored, Art Nouveau-inspired butterfly. The details of the face and legs are especially charming. Marked on the bottom with the blue Karl Ens windmill mark and the number 7508.

Measures 3-3/8 inches tall, with 3-1/4 inch wide wingspan.
