Midcentury Taxco Mexican Sterling Silver Tiger's Eye Adjustable Ring

This lovely silver ring features an oval tiger’s eye cabochon surrounded by an ornate floral scrollwork design. The bright highlights of the raised scrollwork contrast beautifully with the intentionally patinated dark background. The richly colored tiger’s eye cabochon has excellent chatoyancy and measures 10 × 13 mm. The sturdy ring band is adjustable, but could be permanently sized by a jeweler. It is fully stamped and hallmarked TAXCO MEXICO 925 in a circle around the maker’s initials MTC and with the number 3 inside an eagle. The ring can be dated to between 1948 and 1978 by these marks.

Front measures 1 × 1-1/4 inches and rises almost ½ inch proud. Ring is currently sized at 4-1/4, but could easily be adjusted to be larger.

Excellent vintage condition.
