Midcentury Astri Holthe Pewter Mountain Lady Pendant Brooch

Noted Norwegian designer Astri Holthe opened her workshop, which specialized in pewter but also sometimes utilized silver, in 1940. This highly detailed brooch features a woman on a wooded mountain, surrounded by a floral motif and topped with a cow’s face. She is blowing a large horn. The brooch has a loop at the top of the back which allows it to be worn as a pendant. Marked TINN (for pewter), this is a known Holthe design. C-clasp holds well.

Measures 2-1/4 inches in diameter.

Excellent vintage condition. Normal patina of vintage pewter has been left undisturbed.
