This delightful figurine was made in Japan during the 1960s by Josef Originals. It is from the “Little Pets” series and is the scarce girl with butterfly. Affixed to the front is a small paper label reading MARCH. The girl is wearing a pink skirt with a blue bodice and overskirt. Over one arm she carries a basket of flowers. The same flowers are also in her hair. Perched on her shoulder is a colorful butterfly. The handpainted details of her face are charmingly demure. It is marked on the bottom with the impressed Josef Originals mark (in script) and with an impressed copyright symbol. There is fine crazing on her dress, but none on face, hair, arms, basket, or butterfly. There is one chip on the under side of the bottom front of her skirt. This cannot be seen when the piece is placed on a surface.
Measures 4-3/4 inches tall, 5-3/4 inches wide, and 4 inches front to back.
