"Jolie Brise" Pilot Cutter Ship in a Bottle by Jim Goodwin

$100.00

This beautiful work of art from famed ship in a bottle builder Jim Goodwin was created inside a chunky, clear glass, 1 pint Jack Daniels bottle in 2017. The finely detailed model boat has maroon-red sails and flies a Union Jack flag. It is affixed to a choppy blue and white sea. The bottle rests on two cork legs. The mouth of the bottle is corked and securely sealed with a mixture of red and metallic silver sealing wax. Information about the ship is on the paper label affixed to the bottle’s bottom, with hand-inked initials - JG. Included with this work of art is the Goodwin’s business card. Jim Goodwin achieved significant fame beyond the model boat building community when he was chosen to create ships in bottles for the 2009 Hollywood movie, The Lovely Bones, which played a prominent role in the film.
