This spectacular antiqued gold-tone brooch has been featured in several jewelry collectors’ books, including Marcia Brown’s “Signed Beauties of Costume Jewelry” and Julia C. Carroll’s Costume Jewelry 202. It simulates a military honors ribbon, with a rhinestone-encrusted Maltese cross suspended from a gold-tone mesh ribbon. At the top is a resplendent eagle, and a crown is applied to the mesh ribbon. The central six-sided stone is of foiled amber glass. Around it are black glass navettes and olivine-green rhinestones. The safety clasp holds well. Marked FLORENZA with the copyright symbol.
Measures 3-1/2 inches long. The Maltese cross is 1-5/8 inches in diameter.
