These very unusual earrings from the well-known copper jewelry company, Renoir, appear to date to the late 1940s, during the earliest days of this company’s production. Highly sculptural, this openwork design features a swirl of patinated copper sitting atop a round copper ring, with a copper half-ball at its base. This early expression of Modernism in popular jewelry is as fresh and dynamic today as it was when it was made. Marked Renoir in script. Clip backs hold well. Light wear on the earring backs consistent with age, but the fronts are bright and clean.
Measure 1 inch in diamter and rise 1/3 inch tall.
Very good vintage condition.
