DeLizza & Elster "Juliana" Honey Malachite Topaz Rhinestone Fringed Brooch and Earrings Set

$150.00

This stunning set of jewelry was created by DeLizza and Elster in the early 1960s. The richly mottled amber center stone in all 3 pieces is described as “honey malachite” in Ann Pitman’s Juliana Jewelry Reference book. This is an example of their own unsigned production of a design they also manufactured for Hattie Carnegie. The brooch has a bale that allows it to also be worn as a pendant. It is a gorgeous layered confection, with light and dark topaz navettes accented by aurora borealis rhinestones, and with 5 streamers of gold and topaz rhinestone chain. The visual impact of this piece is stunning, especially because of the kinetic qualities contributed by the dangling chains. The safety clasp holds well. Sadly, the emerald-cut central honey malachite stone of the brooch is cleanly cracked through. It is held securely by the prong setting and does not move or rattle. This crack can only be seen on very close inspection. The earrings feature the same central stone, and are accented by the same mix of topaz and aurora borealis stones, all prong-set in gold-tone. A loop of the golden chain arches above the stones. Clip backs hold well.

Brooch measures 1-3/4 × 2-3/4 inches, including pendant chains. Earrings measure 1 × 1-1/4 inches.

Earrings are in excellent vintage condition. Brooch is in very good vintage condition (would be excellent if not for cracked stone).
