This fabulous brooch features a truly unique poured glass stone, which is captured inside a frame of sweeping wave-like gold-tone tendrils. The thick, round, opaque, art glass stone is a rich orange-ish red, mottled with tiny speckles of purple. The surface is rippled, as though it were molten lava. It is captured behind gold-tone “fingers,” some with a brushed finish and others smooth. The nature of this setting allows the stone to move very slightly, but this is not in any way damage or a flaw. This is an unmarked beauty from the 1970s. Its safety clasp holds well.
Measures 1-3/4 inches in diameter.
Excellent vintage condition.
