The pearls are in different sizes, with 4 strands of 4 mm. pearls and 2 strands each of 5 and 6 mm. pearls. The strands are gathered into a richly gold-plated, ornate clasp that is paved with brilliant white rhinestones. Slide clasp holds securely. The necklace is marked 1988 FM. This sophisticated necklace is from the line designed by Mary MacFadden for Franklin Mint in 1988. The plating of the incredibly shiny clasp is reported to have been 22K.
