This beautiful bracelet is composed of 15 small bone mah jong tiles, each measuring 1/2 x 3/4 inch. These are older tiles, from a travel or lady’s mah jong set, and show the signs of wear appropriate for their age. Based on the materials, iconography, and colors of the dye or paint, they appear to date to the first quarter of the 20th century. The tiles have been double drilled and strung onto red elastic cord. The cord still has plenty of stretch and the tiles do not gap away from each other, but buyers who prefer a snugger fit might want to have the bracelet restrung.
Measures 7 inches inside circumference.
