This lovely small vase has a very graceful shape. The pale reddish-beige glossy ceramic is patterned with darker shades of the same brown ochre color, due to inclusion of ash from the 1980 volcanic explosion of Mt. St. Helens into the clay, beneath the glaze. The eruption spread a thick layer of ash throughout the Pacific Northwest which was subsequently incorporated into ceramics by this enterprising ceramics studo. The resulting works of art have a wonderfully earthy, organic, natural coloration that goes with any modern or traditional decor. This piece has the original foil label, which reads “BEE GEE STUDIO INC. 1005 Broadway Seaside, Oregon 97138 (503) 738-8298”. It is also signed with the same brown ochre ash - Mt. St. Helens Bee Gee.
Measures 6 inches tall and 2-1/2 inches wide at greatest diameter.
