This large, spectacular brooch takes a classic form - a simple bar - and reinvents it as only Schiaparelli can. The beautiful art glass beads are individually wired to a pierced back, similar to the construction seen in Miriam Haskell jewelry. These beads include faceted blue aurora borealis in 2 shapes and sizes, round clear and blue givre swirls, and berry-shaped iridescent pale blue glass with darker blue centers. Some of the swirled beads wear metal caps that have been given a verdigris patina. The pierced back is of gold-tone metal and this is covered with a textured gold-tone plate on the back that covers and protects the wirework. Safety clasp holds well. Applied cartouch reads SCHIAPARELLI with a copyright symbol.
