The three interlocking linksbring to mind a chain made of rope, with deep ridges and curvilinear shapes, finished in brushed gold-tone. The openwork design allows the color of the background to be seen in the negative spaces, giving the brooch the appearance of floating on the garment. The size and shape make it perfect for securing a scarf or a cloak. Marked NAPIER with a copyright symbol on both the back and the pin stem. Safety clasp holds well. Pin stem is slightly bowed, but this does not affect the wearability or appearance of the piece.
