1950s Vintage Embroidered Flowers & Butterflies Silk Kimono Robe
This gorgeous midnight blue silk robe was purchased in Asia and brought to the United States by a merchant seaman in the early 1950s. It is richly embroidered with brilliantly colored flowers and strategically placed butterflies. The lining is off-white silk. The original self-fabric belt is included.
Measurements:
Hem to shoulder seam - 50-1/2 inches
Hem to bottom of armhole - 39-1/2 inches
Back width, seam to seam - 23-3/4 inches
Front panel width, seam to edge - 13-1/2 inches each
Sleeve length - 11-1/2 inches
Sleeve width, top to bottom - 13 inches
Belt - 56-1/2 inches long, 1-1/4 inch wide
Excellent vintage condition. No damage or stains to blue silk or embroidery. The lining is intact except for a 4 inch separation along one side seam - no fraying or ripping. There are a couple of very small brown stains on the lining.
