These charming earrings are in the form of traditional Japanese carved wood kokeshi dolls and display remarkable detail, especially considering their truly tiny size. Each is wearing a hot pink kimono with hand-painted red, blue, yellow, and green details, including a peek of the v-necked under-kimono. Theirminimalist faces have large black eyes, arched brows, and a cute little red nose. They swing freely from screw back earrings that are made of metal the color of age-darkened silver, each with a concave disk at the earlobe. The earrings were found in a vintage cardboard jewelry box with the inscription “Tourist Trade 1950s Japanese dolls ear rings.” There are no signs of wear or use.
