1950 Coro Pegasus Rhinestone Flower Golden Double Hinged Cuff Clamper Bracelet

$95.00

This elegant bracelet has a domed profile but is discretely sized for ease of wear. The front is adorned with three rhinestone flowers surrounded by lacy etched foliar motifs. Both sides of the cuff are hinged to allow it to be easily put on and taken off, though it hugs the wrist tightly. The finish is a warm gold-tone. The bracelet is marked Coro in script inside a rectangle, with a Pegasus next to it. Beneath, it reads PAT. PEND. The patent that was awarded for this design is D159636, which dates the bracelet to 1950. Adolph Katz applied for this patent in March of that year, but it was not awarded until September, so we know this bracelet was produced during that 6 month window in 1950. The style is a perfect melding of the Retro Modern designs of the 1940s with the delicate Real Look jewelry of the 1950s. This is a very special piece, suitable for the most discriminating of collectors.

Measures 7/8 inch wide at front. Inside length is 5-1/2 inches, with a ½ inch gap. Hinges allow for adjustment to a slightly larger wrist size, though the bracelet is most comfortably worn on a small wrist. Rises 1/2 inch proud.

Excellent vintage condition.
