1942 Walter Lampl World War II Sweetheart Jewelry Sterling ID Ring

$145.00

This charming and unusual sterling ring was created during World War II as a type of “sweetheart jewelry,” worn by women whose loved ones were away at war. It is a perfect miniature of the classic ID bracelets that were so popular at that time. The flat portion of the ring was meant to be engraved with her beloved’s name. This ring has a really interesting Retro Modern feel because of the clean lines and military-inspired chain. Marked By Lampl STERLING. In May of 1942, Walter Lampl began advertising a line of very similar ID bracelets intended as patriotic gifts.

Ring size is 5. The silver rectangle measures 1 inch long and 1/4 inch wide.

Excellent vintage condition. Normal patina of vintage silver has been left undisturbed.
