1941 Coro "Callopsitta" Bird Pin Clip
This exuberanat cockatoo-like parrot was originally half of a Coro Duette. It is beautifully handpainted with cold-enamel in shades of yellow, white, orange, pink, blue, brown, and green. The bird is sitting on a flowering branch. Its chest is paved with brilliant white rhinestones. Its pin clip (also known as a fur clip) back holds securely and allows great versatility in the way it can be worn. It exactly matches design patent 126490, which was awarded to Adolph Katz for Coro in 1941. The two clips that made up this well-known Duette were not marked. Only the frame that attached them together was marked Coro. This pin is missing two tiny rhinestones - the bird’s eye and the center stone of the pink flower.
Measures 1 × 2-1/2 inches.
Excellent vintage condition.
