This beautiful enameled brooch was a souvenir of the 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition. This world’s fair was held in San Francisco Bay, on Treasure Island, and celebrated the completion of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge. The pin has white enamel sails with engine-turned detail beneath the enamel, an orange and black hull, and two pennants in shades of blue. The mainsail says GOLDEN GATE INTERNATIONAL EXPOSITION 1939 and the jib reads SAN FRANCISCO BAY. C-clasp works well.
Measures 1-1/4 × 1-1/2 inches.
Excellent vintage condition.
