1926 What Every Girl Should Know - Margaret Sanger Little Blue Book #14
Title: What Every Girl Should Know
Author: Margaret H. Sanger, Edited by E. Haldeman-Julius
Publisher: Haldeman-Julius Company
City: Not Stated
Date & Edition: 1926 Little Blue Book No. 14
Binding : Softcover, stapled
Pages: 64
Illustrations: None
Book Details: This was the 14th offering in the Little Blue Book series intended by Haldeman-Julius to disseminate valuable information among the working classes. It was a particularly daring publication, as its distribution through the mail violated the 1873 Comstock Act. Despite this prohibition, Sanger’s groundbreaking frank discussion in this small volume of sexual anatomy & physiology, puberty, masturbation, sexual expression, birth control, and reproduction proved to be extremely popular and it was a best seller for Haldeman-Julius. These books were designed for small size and light weight so they could be carried in a reader’s pocket, thus few have survived.
Condition: Excellent overall condition. The original blue color has faded to a pale lavender-gray. There is some even browning of the pages. No foxing or odor. No bent or torn pages. Binding is tight and intact.
