1920s Venetian Millefiori Bead Necklace - Long Art Deco Flapper Style
This wonderful rope-length necklace is composed of 4 different types of antique Italian glass beads, filigreed brass endcaps, and textured brass bars. It dates to the early to mid-1920s. All of the beads are selenium red. There are 6 elongated “bone-shaped” millefiori beads, 5 large rondelle-shaped millefiori beads, 4 smaller round millefiori beads, and 5 round, slightly irregularly shaped, undecorated beads of brick-red selenium glass. All of the beads are handmade. Linking the beads are finely decorated brass bars. The clasp is an oval brass bead with a simple bayonet.
Total length is 54 inches.
Excellent antique condition. No cracked or broken beads. All of the rondelles have slight irregularities along the sharp edge, which appear to be products of the manufacturing process rather than damage.
