Book Details: This original pamphlet describing the lives of Canadian First Nations leaders Chief Mathias Joe Capilano and his father, Chief Joe Capilano, focuses on the symbology of the famed Squamish clan totem. The cover shows that totem pole and the inside cover shows Chief Mathias holding it. That image is based on a famous photograph of Chief Mathias Joe Capilano that was taken by Stuart Thomson in 1930. That photo resides in the archives of the City of Vancouver, in British Columbia. Included with the pamphlet is a double matted reproduction of that photo with an auction description of the pamphlet, suitable for framing.
