Dating to the 1920s, this extraordinary antique Eyptian shawl is made from strips of beaten silver that have been folded into the fabric of a slightly stretchy linen/cotton net fabric. The edges of the shawl are hand-rolled. It drapes beautifully and can be worn in so many ways. The design consists of complex geometric patterns. The condition is remarkable, with no missing strips of silver, no holes or tears, and no notable stains. The cream colored fabric has yellowed silightly with age, shading into ecru.

Measures 24 × 86 inches (2 feet by 7 feet, 2 inches).
