1919 Rene Lalique Panier De Roses Box - Frosted Glass Basket of Roses

$2,500.00

This extraordinary and quite rare piece of antique glass comes from the studio of reknowned artist Rene Lalique. It was produced about 1919 to accompany the 1912 perfume bottle with the same motif - Panier De Roses (Basket of Roses). It features the signature frosted glass Lalique was known for, with a raised relief basket of flowers that covers the entire top. The lid of the box extends all the way down to the base of the bottom, and its sides are finely molded pinstripe ribbing that produces an even richer frosted look. It is marked at one edge of the lid R. LALIQUE. The condition of this bx is remarkable. It has one tiny flea bite chip at the outside edge of the lid, so small it can only be seen with magnification. The chip can only be felt very slightly with a fingernail, not by a fingertip. There are 3 tiny bubble in the glass. One is in the lid, which can be seen in the photos of the top of the box. The other 2 are near one bottom edge of the lid and are much smaller.

Measures 2-3/4 × 3-1/2 inches and is 1-3/4 inches tall.

Excellent antique condition.
